Stefan Bielinski

Maria Van Antwerpen was born in October 1742. She was the daughter of Gerrit and Maria Yates Van Antwerpen of Schenectady.

In February 1762, she married aspiring Albany businessman Arie La Grange. By 1777, she had given birth to at least five children - four of whom did not survive to adulthood.

These La Granges settled in Albany where they became first ward mainstays.

Arie La Grange died in April 1798. Maria's substantial home was evaluated on the city assessment roll in 1799. After that, she fell back into the household of her son Jacobus until her death at age fifty-eight in February 1801.
