Daniel S. Van Antwerpen

Daniel S. Van Antwerpen was christened at the Dutch church in Schenectady in January 1719. He was the son of Schenectady natives but Schaghticoke residents Simon D. and Maria Peek Van Antwerpen.

In October 1738, he married Rebecca Van Antwerpen in Schenectady. By 1757, five children had been christened at the Dutch churches of Schenectady and Albany. Until at least 1787, the partners witnessed a number of baptisms at the Albany church.

In 1756, "Daniel Vanantwerpen" was listed as a householder and identified as a "Waggonmaker" on an inventory of Albany households made by the British army. During the 1760s, Daniel Van Antwerpen's third ward property was accorded a modest assessment. However, assessments also appear on the contemporary lists for Schenectady and Halfmoon.

In 1767, "Daniel Van Antwerpen" was a member of Abraham C. Cuyler's Albany city-based militia company.
