Lydia Ten Broeck Van Vechten

Lydia Ten Broeck was born about 1680. She was a daughter in the large family of Albany standouts Dirck Wesselse and Christina Van Buren Ten Broeck. In 1694, she joined the Albany Dutch church and remained a lifelong member.

In August 1702, she married Volkert Van Vechten at her father's State Street house. By 1712, the marriage had produced five children.

These Van Vechtens lived in Rensselaerswyck. Lydia was left a share of her father's substantial estate in the will filed by Dirck Wesselse in 1715. She was named in the will filed by her husband in 1747.

Living well into her sixties, Lydia Ten Broeck Van Vechten was buried from the church in August 1748. Her husband was dead by April 1749.
