Elizabeth Schuyler Van Ingen

by

Elizabeth Schuyler was born in May 1771. She was a middle daughter in the large family of Philip P. and Anna Wendell Schuyler. She grew up on her father's relatively modest farm located along the river to the north of Albany.

In April 1799, she became the second wife of childless widower James Van Ingen. The marriage produced two children in 1800 and 1801. At that time, these Van Ingens appeared to have been living on Market Street.

Elizabeth Schuyler Van Ingen died in February 1801 - just after the birth of her second child. She was but twenty-nine. The next year, Van Ingen married Elizabeth's younger sister.
