by
Stefan Bielinski

Rynier Barents Ryndertsen probably was born before 1650. He probably was the son of New Netherland pioneer Barent Ryndertsen.

He may have been married but no offspring became residents of Albany. He belonged to the Albany Dutch church where he witnessed three baptisms of his sister's children between 1688 and 1691.

In December 1685, he witnessed a bond in Albany. In 1687, '88, '89, and again in 1691 and '92, he was elected assistant alderman for the first ward. In 1689, his first ward property was taxed on an Albany subscription list.

He was a member of the "Convention" that governed Albany during the reign of Jacob Leisler. He was appointed an ensign of the Albany soldiers in March 1689. Afterwards, he was re-elected to the Albany council. Healso served as a juror and quartered soldiers.

Rynier Barents Ryndertsen died or had left Albany by the mid-1690s!
