Adam Ramser

In June 1760, Adam Ramser was identified as the "loving friend" and heir of one Conradt Hyer. At that time both men were identified as carpenters and as "of Albany." In February 1761, Ramser was granted administrative bonds on the estate of the then deceased Conradt Hyer.

We seek information on Ramser's origins and path to Albany. At this point, we suspect that his life may be connected by the following information.

In November 1760, Anna Catharina, daughter of Adam and Magdalena Ramter (Ramzer)[sic], was christened at the Albany Dutch church. In December 1763, that couple witnessed a baptism there.

During the mid-1760s, his (Adam Remse/Ramser) house and property in the West Manor was valued on two assessment rolls. In 1767, "Adam Ramsee" was identified as an enlisted man in the Rensselaerswyck militia company captained by Rykert Van Vranken.

After that, references to "Adam Ramser" have not been recovered during the course of our initial sweep of community and internet-based resources. With so many unanswered questions on the life of possible Albany resident Adam Ramser, we move on for now.
