Maria Martin Barret

by

Maria Martin probably was born before 1720. We seek defining information on her origins and background.

In April 1738, she married Albany native Robert Barret at the Albany Dutch church. Five months later, their first child was christened in Albany. Five more children followed by 1754 - the last two were baptized by the rector at St. Peter's.

These Barrets lived for more than fifteen years without much notice in Albany's first ward.

Maria Martin Barret died in December 1754 and was buried from the church. Her husband died two years later.
