Gerrit Lansing

by

Gerrit Lansing probably was born during the 1670s. He was the son of Gerrit G. and Elsie Van Den Uythoff Lansing. He grew up in a large family in a baker's home on the Rom Street hill near the fort.

In August 1692, he married the widow Catharina S. Glen at the Albany Dutch church where he was a member. By 1709, nine children had been christened in the Dutch churches of Albany and New York.

This Gerrit Lansing appears to have lived in Albany, Schenectady, and New York.
