Ann Harsen Bloomendal

by

Ann Harsen was born in March 1741. She was the daughter of Bernardus and Catharina Pruyn Harsen. She grew up in a smith's home in the second ward.

In August 1763, she married widower Albertus Bloomendal at the Albany Dutch church. By 1785, their ten children had been christened in Albany.

These Bloomendals raised their family in the first ward and lived near or with her husband's mother and brother on upper State Street.

However, Ann Harsen Bloomendal died in November 1787. She was a few months shy of her fifty-seventh birthday. Her husband lived until 1817.
