In 1790, census showed his household consisted of a man, a boy, and two females.
A charge for a hearse and two horses in the Dutch church records marked the passing of William Capron on November 12, 1791. Another Albany resident named William Capron (probably his son) died in 1823 at the age of sixty. A third generation William N. Capron lived in Albany until his death in 1835.
We seek information on his origins, marriage and church affiliations, and on his business and other activities.
Sources: The life of William Capron (the elder) has not been assigned a CAP biography number. This outline sketch is derived chiefly from family and community-based resources and only acknowledges his appearance on community survey documents at the end of the century. Perhaps his family came from/through New England.
