Judith Bayard Van Rensselaer

by

Judith Bayard probably was born before 1760. She probably was the daughter of one of New York's premier Huguenot families. Her father may have been Nicholas Bayard of New York.

In July 1760, she married Jeremiah Van Rensselaer at the Dutch church in New York City. Her only child (Johannes) was born in December 1762.

About that time, these Van Rensselaers set up their home in Albany where Jeremiah was an emerging businessman and surveyor.

However, Judith Bayard Van Rensselaer was dead by February 1764 when her husband re-married.
