Catharina Bogert Van Iveren

by

Catharina Bogert was born in September 1734. She was the daughter of Albany residents Isaac and Hendrickie Oothout Bogert. She grew up in a carpenter's home in the first ward in a family where only one of her siblings survived.

In July 1764, she married Albany native Gerrit Van Iveren at the Albany Dutch church. By 1772, five children had been christened in Albany where she was a member and pewholder.

This Van Iveren family lived modestly in the second ward.

Catharina Bogert Van Iveren died sometime after the birth of her last child in 1772. Her husband passed in November 1787.
