Adam Bishop

by

Based on subsequent resources, Albany resident Adam Bishop was born between 1756 and 1774. We seek information on his origins and path to Albany.

In 1790, an Adam Bishop was listed on the census of the west ward of New York City. That household consisted of a male over sixteen and two females of unspecified ages.

In 1800, his first ward household in Albany included only a fortyish couple.

In 1802, "Margaret Bishop" was identified as a member of the First Lutheran church. That appears to be the extent of Albany-based religion information for these Bishops.

Similarly, no Bishops were listed in the first city directory in 1813.

Following a sweep of community-based and Internet-based resources, we find many contemporary Adam Bishops but none connected to the city of Albany.

With so many unanswered questions, we move on for now!
